Soul eater repeat show?

can someone just tell me what this is i'm looking around and cant find a concrete answer i started watching Soul Eater a week or so ago and i'm almost done, it is probably one of my favorite anime's i have watched. i found out there was at least talk about a second serious but i want to know if it was just a remake (like same exact episodes plot etc) or if it is like FMA and FMA brotherhood where they retell the story from the manga, or if just something different.
